ELECTION HIGHLIGHTS
- First day to file for place on the ballot: Monday, July 20, 2026
- Last day to file for place on the ballot: Monday, August 17, 2026, 5:00 p.m.
- Notice of drawing for place on ballot: Friday, August 21. 2026
- Last day to register to vote: Monday, October 5, 2026
- Early voting begins: Monday, October 19, 2026
- Last day of early voting in person: Friday, October 31, 2026
- Election date: November 3, 2026
- APPLICATION PROCESS
- The candidate filing period to file an application for a place on the ballot is: Monday, July 20, 2026, to Monday, August 17, 2026, 4:00 p.m.
- July 20, 2026 through July 22, 2026: Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- July 26, 2026 through August 17, 2026: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The duty of Matagorda ISD is limited to accepting and filing reports and noting the date received thereon. Matagorda ISD should not be expected to advise or comment upon the timeliness or sufficiency of reports filed.
